6th Grade Discovery Team News

Team Celebrations
In order to participate in team activities, students must be in good standing both academically and behaviorally.  Students with a D or U in any B-Block course will be unable to participate in the upcoming Birthday Bash.  Students unable to participate due to academic or behavior concerns will work on missing assignments or complete a reflection during the team time.  Wildcats, keep working hard and making good choices! 
SOS Presentation 2016
Please see the attached letter for information about the upcoming SOS presentation.  Discovery students will attend the SOS presentation on Thursday, November 10, 2016.

Information Session for Prospective District 34 School Board Members
Information Session Scheduled for Prospective District 34 School Board Members
On April 4, 2017 District 34 residents will be electing 3 of the 7 member District 34 School Board.  In an effort to share information about serving on the Board of Education and be a resource to answer questions, the District 34 Board of Education plans to host a Prospective Board Member Workshop. 
The workshop will take place on Thursday, October 13 from 7:30-8:30 pm at the District Administration Building, 1401 Greenwood Road. Board members Cathe Russe and Chris Northwick, as well as Interim Superintendent Griff Powell will lead the meeting. There is no sign-up or RSVP required to attend the workshop, which is open to all District residents, including those without children in District 34. Hearing and Vision Screening
Hearing and Vision Screening will take place on Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, September 27.  If your child wears glasses or contacts, please make sure they bring them for the screenings.

End of Year Celebrations
In order to participate in end of year activities, students must be in good standing both academically and behaviorally. All Discovery students reviewed school expectations during the week of May 9th through X-Block activities.
Students with a U in any course will be unable to participate in the upcoming Field Day. Additionally, students must return all district materials or pay for lost/damaged items before they will receive their yearbook.
Wildcats, keep working hard and making good choices! We look forward to celebrating sixth grade with you.
Field Trip Information
The Discovery Team will be visiting the Grove on Wednesday, May 11.  Field trip forms will be sent home on Monday. 

Please complete and return the attached field trip form with payment by Friday, May 6, 2016.

Summer School Registration - Due Thursday, May 5th!
Dear Discovery Families,
The deadline for all summer school forms and fees is Thursday May 5th. Make sure that you are ready:
  • Update your iPad to iOS 9.3.1
  • Make sure that you have 2GB of free space on your iPad
  • Keep your headphones/earbuds in your locker
  • Bring your charger to school every day during PARCC
  • Check out an IR book to keep at school
