Character Counts in Glenview

In conjunction with CHARACTER COUNTS! Week, October 21-27, we are excited to present for a sixth year the video component of the annual fall CHARACTER COUNTS! in Glenview poster/video contest. This year, the video portion of the contest will be available to students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8. Kindergarten through fourth grades will continue to create posters. Students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8, either individually or in teams of up to three members, are invited to submit videos of between one and two minutes, to illustrate one or all of the Six Pillars of Character (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship).

Contest rules are explained on the document accompanying this letter, and are posted on the CHARACTER COUNTS! in Glenview website at

Entries for the video contest will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, September 25. Entries will be evaluated by judges with video and education backgrounds in two categories: 5-6 grades and 7-8 grades. Prize awards generously donated by Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook of $150, $100 and $75 will be presented to the first-, second- and third-place winning entries in each category
