11/05/2015 | Donate UnWrapped New Toys!
With your help we can provide gifts for underprivileged, abused and neglected children in Illinois.
PLEASE BRING AN UNWRAPPED NEW TOY for the WALTER AND CONNIE PAYTON FOUNDATION. You may drop give your toy to Ms. Simkins or drop it off by the main office before December 1st!
Let’s remember how important giving is during this holiday season. Anything helps! Toys are needed for newborn-18 years.
"Gifts during the Holidays for abused and neglected children may not seem like a lot, but in terms of establishing self-worth, confidence, and a feeling of pride, I believe it may mean everything. I want them to feel good about themselves and to have self-esteem and self-respect. They deserve just as much as the kid down the street.  Can you imagine the impact this has on these kids?....... Can you imagine?”
We are stronger together than alone.”
We can’t do this alone. ~Walter Payton

09/21/2015 | Team Building!
During PASS today, SOAR students worked really cooperatively together to accomplish a task. The students were required to transport a marble to a bucket using only foam tubes. They could not touch anything but the tube and during some rounds, they weren't allowed to speak! All students showed exceptional skills of listening and working together. They got to experience what it felt like to accomplish a goal. :)
