                                                   The District #34 2017-18 School Year                                                   The 2017-18 District #34 Calendar is available as a PDF here.  This handy one-page calendar identifies all student-attendance days and which days school will not be in session. 

School Day: 8:20 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Morning Activity Period: (Overture - Band/Orchestra/Chorus Rehearsal)  7:25 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
After-School Activity Period (begins after Labor Day):  3:05 p.m. to 4:05 p.m. 
 
Springman utilizes a RED/WHITE calendar throughout the year for classes that meet on alternating day (Fine Arts classes for all grade levels, Global Language in 6th grade, X-Block in 7th & 8th Grade, and Chorus.  The first day of the school year is a RED day, the second day is a WHITE day, the third day is RED, the fourth is WHITE, and so on.  The entire year calendar for Red/White days can be found here.

The Middle School Program

Springman Middle School is a high-performing school that is responsive to the developmental needs of young adolescents as they make the transition between childhood and adolescence. While holding high expectations for all students' academic achievement, teachers are careful to see that instructional strategies are appropriate to adolescent learners.
As a Middle School, Springman is characterized by a(n)

  • philosophy based on the unique needs and characteristics of the young adolescent;

  • flexible block schedule;
